Self -heating meals are a kind of convenient food that does not need external heat resource(such as direct fire or electricity), and can achieve self-heating and quick warm of food by its internal heating system. The core advantage is that it can provide hot food in a few minitues almost anywhere and anytime, widely used in outdoor adventures, military operations, long-distance travel and other scenearios.
Water reactive meals
Do self-heating meals need water? The answer is absolutely yes.
The heating function of self-heating meals rely on the internal flameless ration heater. As for the flameless ration heater, because of the core components are metal based, it need to contact with water so that the chemical reaction can start and continue to produce enough heat further. During the entire process, it does not need any electricity and fuels. The only thing you need is to add enough water into the inner food container (the water is based on the weight of food and packs).
Use logic
When in use, you just need to complete simple steps:
Open the outer package of self-heating meals and take out the inner food compartment.
First, pour the individually packaged food into the inner partition layer and pour the water into the bottom heating compartment.
After placing the two compartments together, close the lid of the entire package and make sure the vent holes on the lid are not blocked.
Wait a few minutes. After the reaction is complete, it is time to enjoy the hot and delicious food.
Precautions for Use
The self-heating meals need water to produce heat. During the reaction process, there are some precautions need to be noted.
Hot water or too much water is strictly prohibited.
The amount of water should be added strictly according to the instructions (usually 90-270ml). Too much or too little can have an influence on the effect. And do not use hot water!
Maintain breathability while using.
The lid should have ventilation holes to release steam and prevent the packaging from bursting. In addition, it is recommended to use in a well-ventilated environment.
Be careful of burns.
In the heating process, the temperature can reach a relative high degree(usually above 60℃). So it is necessary to avoid direct contact with the heating bags even the box.
Conclusion
Self-heating food is a food solution that prioritizes convenience, suitable for short-term use in specific scenarios, when choosing and using it, one must balance convenience with safety, health, and also pay attention to other issues.
